Founder’s Note
A Legacy of Love, Family, and Community
Hap’s House was not born from theory—it was born from legacy. From the lived experience of a family whose values were planted decades ago and whose roots continue to nourish generations today. This organization stands on the shoulders of Gregory Otis “Hap” Evans—a man whose life was anchored in faith, integrity, and service. His simple belief that family comes first has become the blueprint for everything we build. It’s not just our story—it’s our methodology: when families love, care for, and respect one another, they create a ripple effect of stability, healing, and hope that transforms entire communities. That belief isn’t abstract—it’s alive. Kara, Charles, and I are living proof that this model works. We were raised on those principles, and we’ve watched how they multiply across generations. What began as lessons around a dinner table have evolved into a movement that centers family as the cornerstone of community change. At Hap’s House, our mission is to make that living legacy accessible to others—to create spaces where families can thrive holistically through education, wellness, and technology. We are building not just programs, but pathways. Pathways to opportunity, to belonging, to generational strength. Every partnership, every retreat, every workshop, and every moment of service is a reflection of that founding truth: strong families build strong communities, and strong communities change the world. So as you explore Hap’s House, know that what you’re witnessing is the continuation of a legacy—a legacy of love carried forward by family, now shared with the world. And we invite you to be part of it. Because when we build together, we rise together. With gratitude and purpose, Kaala Evans Founder, Hap’s House

“As a mental health professional, my work is structured around helping the whole individual. A healthy individual is the catalyst for healthy families and communities at large.
